Dean, I hope you are both feeling OK now.
It was good hear you on WNYC again.
And welcome back to New York in that more literal dimension. Kissing the ground seemed just right to my ears.
I trust your father and his home are OK, save the broken glass.
Sometimes the timid have their reasons.
That's a hell of an anecdote—glad the closet was sufficient protection for you both. And I hear you on feeling safest ensconced in a large city.
I first heard about the Villages a couple weeks ago, when a friend (whose in-laws live there) told me about the STD outbreaks among the retirees. (!)
A terrific piece, Dean--especially the sudden transition back to, "I've been thinking a lot about Guam today..."
