Just saw Wings of Desire again recently. In many ways it surpassed my fond memories. But then that didactic monologue at the end. Ouch.
You're absolutely right. Full disclosure: I've never actually stayed awake for an entire screening of the film. And yet the parts I did see still merit a spot in the Top 25.
Go for 50!
I liked Wings of Desire (payoff for those years of German classes). I made a terrible, terrible mistake and once watched the American remake with Meg Ryan, City of Angels or something like that. Do not repeat this error.
