Nickeled and Dimed
Why do I insist on separating the coins before dumping them into the Penny Arcade (which smartly does the job for you)? Maybe the C in OCD does stand for “crossword” after all.
3/4 of a Mott’s jar (i.e., about 18 oz. of nickels)=$18.05
1/3 of a qt. container of dimes=$60.45
Among the rejects: two coins stuck together by some unknown goo (Penny Arcade doesn’t accept filthy lucre), and a nickel-sized coin from the United Arab Emirates featuring an antelope (25 fils, a denomination that, as far as I know, has not appeared in any crossword puzzle I have ever done).
