As earworms go, that's not that bad, really.
It helps if one doesn't really know the original song, as I don't. Shameful, I know.
Well, you're in excellent company. When John Corigliano (b. 1938) composed Mr. Tambourine Man: Seven Poems of Bob Dylan five years ago, he claimed HE HAD NEVER HEARD THE ORIGINAL SONGS! To this day, I can't imagine how such a thing is possible.
